This is a block, a rectangular element that can contain text, images, tables, and headings, among other things. It is the basic structure of a WordPress page, and all the design elements throughout your website are contained within these blocks.
This is a new block that contains text. If you click inside this block, you’ll see a popup window:

The button with the 6 dots and the button with the up/down arrows will allow you to move this block to a different position on the page. You can also use this popup window to add links or make the text bold/italicized.
To underline text, you’ll need to use a keyboard shortcut:
Highlight the text you want to underline. Then, hit command + u (if you’re on a mac) or control + u (if you’re on a PC).
To edit this text, click inside the block.
To add a new block below, hit ‘Enter’.
If you’d rather create a new paragraph in the same block of text, hit ‘Shift + Enter’ and you’ll be able to write on a new line without creating another block.
You might notice that, while editing this page, you cannot see the navigation menu, footer, or header. This is because those features are templates that get applied to all the pages on the website. They are edited elsewhere (in the Appearances tab in the Dashboard).
Images can be added easily to a page. You can upload them directly from your computer, or you can add them from your Media Library. The Media Library contains all the images that are currently displayed on the site. Uploading an image from your computer automatically adds it to the Media Library.
Click inside this block. Hit “Enter”, and then “/”. A menu will pop up showing the types of elements you can add. Select “Image.”
Once you have added an image (either by uploading it or selecting it from the Media Library), you can resize it.
The RESUME page contains both text (paragraph) and table elements.
Any line that contains a date is inside a table.
Below is a copy of the OUTDOOR SCULPTURE section of the resume. You can edit this block and it won’t affect the actual RESUME page.
To edit the existing text, click on it and start typing.

This pink area below is a Column Block.
This is a column. It is the most practical element for juxtaposing images with text. To create a set of columns, you can click anywhere on the page, type “/”, and choose Columns from the drop-down list.
This is another column.
If you click inside this column, you’ll see a popup window:

If you choose the ‘select parent block: Column (the highlighted blue box), you’ll see a ‘+’, which allows you to add more elements to this column.
